At Wright State University, academic integrity means being honest in your work and following university policies. Violations such as cheating or plagiarism are taken seriously and may result in academic consequences.
Plagiarism is using someone else’s work, ideas, or words without giving credit. This includes copying text, paraphrasing without citation, or submitting work that is not your own.
Collaboration is working with others when your instructor allows it. Cheating occurs when you share or receive answers without permission, especially during exams or assignments.
If a violation is suspected, the instructor will meet with the student to discuss the situation. If confirmed, consequences may include a reduced grade, failing the assignment, or further disciplinary action.
