💳 Financial Processes at Wright State University

Understanding how finances work in U.S. universities can be confusing—especially since international students are not eligible for federal financial aid. Below is a simplified guide to billing, payments, and financial responsibilities at Wright State University.

1. FAFSA & Financial Aid

International students on F-1 visas are not eligible for FAFSA. Instead, funding may come from scholarships, sponsors, or personal/family support. For scholarship questions, contact the Office of Financial Aid.

2. Understanding Your Tuition Bill

Tuition and fees are posted each semester in WINGS Express. Charges may include tuition, international student fees, housing, meal plans, and health insurance.

3. Payment Deadlines

Tuition deadlines are strict. Missing a deadline may result in late fees or being dropped from classes. Payment plan options are available through the Bursar’s Office.

4. Health Insurance Requirement

All international students must have health insurance. Students are automatically enrolled unless they submit an approved waiver before the deadline.

5. On-Campus Employment

F-1 students may work up to 20 hours per week during the semester and 40 hours during official breaks. On-campus jobs should supplement, not replace, tuition planning.
