At Wright State University, academic integrity means being honest in your work and following university policies. Violations such as cheating or plagiarism are taken seriously and may have real academic consequences.
Using someone else's work, ideas, or words without giving proper credit. This includes copying text, paraphrasing without citation, or submitting work that isn't your own.
Collaboration is working with others when your instructor permits it. Cheating is sharing or receiving answers without permission โ especially during exams or graded assignments.
If a violation is suspected, the instructor meets with the student. Confirmed violations may result in a reduced grade, a failing assignment, or further disciplinary action.
Academic integrity ensures fairness and protects the value of your degree. It also builds the honesty and responsibility expected of you professionally.
